Are you new to e-cigarettes? Or haven't you started with them yet? Then you surely have some questions you want answers to.
1. How do I fill my E-cigarette with E-juice?
Everything always depends on which E-cigarette you are using.
- A cigarette-like E-cigarette you do not fill with E-juice. Here you use ”cartridges” or ”filters” that contain the liquid and these you screw onto the battery and inhale. It couldn't be simpler.
- A liquid container, regardless of which type you usually use, works like this:
- Fill the container but do not let the liquid enter the small tube in the middle.
- Let the filled container stand for 5 minutes so that the liquid has time to distribute into the wick.
2. How much does it cost to use an E-cigarette?
Startup costs
Costs to get started with E-cigarettes are quite small. See our entire range of starter kits for e-cigarettes!
When you feel secure and have decided that E-cigarettes are something for you, I recommend upgrading to a tank with a BDC/BVC coil. It gives more flavor and more vapor and in this way you can be sure you get the most from your E-cigarette. My recommendation is to upgrade to an iSmoka Eleaf iStick set.
You will see that many users of E-cigarettes spend much more money than I mentioned but when I talk to our customers I find that many are very satisfied with the standard equipment. Therefore: Be sure that the E-cigarette is something for you before you invest in expensive equipment.
Consumables costs
Liquid reservoirs and coils
You can buy a new CE4 V2 clearomizer for only 29 kr at Elekcig.se. But it is actually cheaper in the long run if you buy a slightly more expensive liquid reservoir with a replaceable coil. Coils are not eternal (they can function in anything from a few days to a month or longer). If you choose a liquid reservoir with a replaceable coil such as t. e.g. Aspire CE5-S or Eleaf GS Air you will have a monthly cost of around 30 kr.
E-juice
Costs for E-juice can vary a lot because they depend on your E-cigarette and which brand you want to buy the E-juice from. Most 20-a-day smokers will need about 10 ml of E-juice per week which results in costs of 35 kr per week, i.e., only 140 kr per month.
Batteries
Batteries are a bit harder to calculate since their lifetime varies quite a bit. We have heard from customers that their battery has worked for two years without problems. Usually, however, it is such that one would replace the battery after 6-12 months. Some customers also experience that their battery stops functioning after only a few weeks. In such cases we replace the battery, of course, at no cost.
Standard batteries such as eGo batteries are available from 89 kr at Elekcig.se and it should not cost you more than 350 kr per year to use them. If, however, you would like to try a battery with variable voltage such as Vision Spinner 2 you can expect an annual cost of 600-700 kr.
3. Will I save money?
Due to the high price of regular cigarettes you will definitely save (a lot) of money. You can actually save over 15,000 kr per year if you currently smoke a pack a day.
4. Is it healthier than regular cigarettes?
Researchers have told us that the reason E-cigarettes are healthier for health is the way they work in practice.
Cigarettes are worse for you because they produce smoke. When the smoke cools, carbon monoxide and tar are produced.
E-cigarettes vaporize nicotine instead of burning tobacco. It is not 100% healthy either but experts estimate that it is 95% healthier than regular cigarettes.
In recent years there have been countless studies on E-cigarettes. One of the largest studies with several thousand E-cigarette users showed that those who switched from regular cigarettes to E-cigarettes experience enormous benefits.
5. Do E-cigarettes work? Will they help me quit smoking?
! An investigation among our customers with as many as 2000 respondents showed this:
- 85% of respondents currently use only E-cigarettes.
- 14% of respondents now smoke fewer regular cigarettes.
- 1% of respondents have quit completely both E-cigarettes and regular cigarettes.
In addition, as many as 92% of respondents experienced physical improvements after switching to E-cigarettes.
6. How much nicotine should I choose?
One of the questions we get quite often is which nicotine content one should choose. We recommend:
- Start with a strength that is a little higher. If you are between 12 mg and 18 mg for example you would choose 18 mg.
- Be open to trying different strengths (most E-cigarette users eventually reduce their nicotine strength).
Here is our nicotine guide:
- 0 mg – Contains no nicotine, only flavor
- 6 mg – For you who have smoked less than 10 cigarettes per day.
- 12 mg – For you who smoke about 10-15 light cigarettes per day.
- 18 mg – For you who smoke about 20 cigarettes per day.
7. What type of E-cigarette should I have?
If you desire an E-cigarette with a tank where you can refill E-juice and if the vapor and flavor are important to you, then I would recommend using a battery with variable voltage from the start. The iSmoka Eleaf iStick set could be a good idea for you.
8. Can my E-cigarette ignite itself?
Using the wrong charger for the E-cigarette battery is the reason for almost all accidents with E-cigarettes. The worst you can do is to charge your battery with your iPhone charger.
Charging with a wrong charger can not only cause accidents, it will also void all warranties from the seller.
When you buy from us both the battery and the charger have protection against overcharging. But nothing is 100% safe when used improperly. Therefore always use a charger that is made for E-cigarettes.
We recommend:
- Never use a battery that is damaged or defective.
- Keep the battery away from extreme heat and cold.
- Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight.
9. Can I use my E-cigarette indoors?
There is not yet any law that you cannot use your E-cigarette indoors. Some hospitals and other institutions have however introduced a smoking ban that covers both regular and electronic cigarettes.
If you are unsure, it is always best to ask before you use your E-cigarette.
10. How many puffs should I take?
When you smoke a cigarette you will experience that it ends whether you want it to or not. Ironically, the high price of cigarettes (which would make smokers quit) makes smokers not want to waste any of the cigarette.
Of course this is not a definitive answer to how many puffs you should take to cover your needs. This is so because studies have shown that smokers are ”self-covering”. That means the smoker takes in the nicotine he or she needs and not more. So you decide for yourself but you will experience that you take fewer puffs from your E-cigarette but more often. The reason is that you can cover your need over time instead of smoking a whole cigarette every half hour.
